The Sierra de Andújar Natural Park is a protected natural space located to the northwest of the Province of Jaén and the municipalities it encompasses are Andújar, Baños de la Encina, Marmolejo and Villanueva de la Reina.
The natural park forms an almost perfect equilateral triangle and is known, in addition to its natural values, for hosting the Basilica of Our Lady of the Head on Cerro del Cabezo; the pilgrimage, in April, brings together thousands of people from all over Spain.
In the Sierra de Andújar there are extensive oak forests, the largest in the Sierra Morena. There are also pine forests.
In addition to red deer, fallow deer, mouflon and wild boar, the wildlife in the natural park also includes rare species such as wolves, lynx, mongoose, wild cats, otters, black vultures and imperial eagles.
The Jándula river crosses the natural park, and on the other hand the park is the main reserve of the Iberian Lynx, in danger of extinction.
