Las Tuerces is a protected natural space in the province of Palencia.
They form a peculiar landscape enclave, the result of the active dissolution processes carried out by the erosion of karst origin in the limestone rocks of the Upper Cretaceous.
Located in the westernmost foothills of the Páramos de La Lora, in the area of contact between the reliefs of the Cantabrian mountain range and the sedimentary materials of the Duero Basin, Las Tuerces form an authentic labyrinth in which large blocks of shapes alternate whimsical.
This erosion has given rise to the magnificent Cañón de la Horadada, by many named after the "Spanish Colorado" that can be seen in all its fullness from Monte Cildá.
