Oasys (formerly called Mini Hollywood) is a theme park located in the Tabernas desert.
It was originally based on the sets that were built for the western movies that were filmed in the province in the 1960s and 1970s.
There are two other western theme parks in the Tabernas Desert: Fort Bravo/Texas Hollywood and Western Leone.
Its original name was Yucca City, and it was designed by Carlo Simi for the 1965 film Death Had a Price, directed by the Italian Sergio Leone.
It has been used for a multitude of western films.
After the filming of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, the extras involved in the filming decided to buy the set and advertise it as a tourist attraction.
Subsequently, the site was purchased by the Playa Senator hotel chain.
The park offers daily cowboy shows and dog dances, as well as a zoological reserve with big cats, exotic wildlife and birds, and two swimming pools.
