THE NORTH WINDOW

As we hinted before, this house is not a pazo, but rather a large house, but why is it described as a pazo in many places?

If you look out of the window of this room, you will see a fireplace a few metres away, bordering the estate. This is the pazo del Campo or pazo Gayón. The pazo of Trasalba. Otero Pedrayo's father bought this pazo in 1878, at that time it was in ruins but the family never lived in it. For the future writer, the place symbolised the decadence of the Galician nobility, incapable of adapting to the new times and assuming its role.

With the passage of time, forced by economic needs, they sold the property and kept the house where you are now, the one they had always worked and lived in, but in Trasalba the custom remained of calling this house "the Pazo de Otero".
