The only chocolate museum in Galicia. For almost a century, the Casares family manufactured different types of chocolate under the trade names "Chocolates Caldelas" and "Chocolates Casares", until its closure in the 1980s.
In the Chocolate Museum in Teimende, you can see the machines donated by the Casares family and it explains the traditional chocolate manufacturing process: from the arrival of the cocoa beans, following all the steps until the final product is obtained, as well as the distribution process.
Inaugurated in 2015, it was a benchmark of entrepreneurship for almost a century. It closed its doors when the last chocolate maker, Ricardo Casares, retired. The building and the machinery were ceded by the family to the Parada de Sil Town Council, to keep the memory of this activity, and you can also buy artisan chocolate, according to the family recipe and the book with the history of this chocolate enclave.
Undoubtedly, the sweetest place in Ribeira Sacra.
