On this map of Spain you can find out where the designations of origin present in our territory are located. Some you may know, others you may not... And in the barrel just below, we have marked 6 types of grapes, although there are many more types in Spain. When you click on the button next to each one, its growing area will light up on the map.
Do you know what type of grape is grown in the Canary Islands? We'll let you do a little research...
Wine tour:
On this map we can see the Spanish denominations of origin. A denomination of origin certifies the geographical area where the grapes come from and where the wines are produced, the permitted varieties, styles of wine, etc... We are in the Ribera del Duero Denomination, without doubt one of the most relevant where the tempranillo variety, due to its altitude, a very marked climate and a diversity of soils, has very different characteristics.
We can also smell the aroma of leather of tertiary origin, which can be developed either by ageing in the bottle or by ageing in wood, it is typical in old riojas and in wines with body, in varieties such as Cabernet, Monastrel, Malbec and of course in Tempranillo.
