We arrived at the family home. This is where the writer used to work. Many people remember him sitting at the brazier table, surrounded by objects that were very dear to him. Photographs such as the one of the Seminary of Galician Studies, which today is exhibited next to the window, reminded him of the enthusiasm that teachers and students had put into the creation of that singular institution in 1923. The Seminary of Galician Studies aimed to study the Galician reality from different areas: art, history, literature, architecture... For years, Otero Pedrayo was in charge of the geography section and, in 1936, he became president of the Seminary. The outbreak of the Civil War put a violent end to that cultural project in which the Galeguistas had invested so much enthusiasm. Don Ramón was always very fond of the ideology of the old Seminary.
In this same space we can see the first books. As you will see later on, Ramón Otero Pedrayo's library is distributed in different rooms. There are more than 3,000 books in the house. As soon as you look at the display case in this room, you will see that they are written in different languages: Galician, Spanish, Portuguese, English, German, Catalan, Italian, Latin...
Before continuing, note that there are still some other curious objects. The wooden bust of Castelao, whom Don Ramón always considered a "brother"; the ceramic figures of the Magdalena that Isaac Díaz Pardo, the founder of Sargadelos, gave him when he visited the Argentinian factory in 1947 and, right next to the table, in the display case, a bunch of mementos of family and friends.
