Colores y aroma

Let's take a look at the bed with the purple crochet quilt next to us. It is not to lie down, no, it is to learn a little about the relationship between aromas, colours and the sensations they transmit.

Opening each box, we will find information about each colour, the energies it transmits and the aromas that go with it.

Oh one thing, this area is only for reading, not for smelling.

Oenological visit:

If smell is the key sense in the olfactory and gustatory phases, it is sight that takes precedence in the visual phase. In this phase of the tasting, the colour and visual aspect will give us the keys to know which wine we have in front of us, its age and in many occasions it gives us clues about its origin or elaboration.

We find from the most straw yellows in young whites to the dark mahogany of a px, in young reds we can go from the most purple tones to the russet tones in older wines.

Signs:

Colour is the impression produced when light rays diffused or reflected by bodies strike the retina. Colour produces a sensation in everyone and everyone has their own taste in one colour or another, but in general, we all perceive a physical reaction to the sensation produced by a colour, such as that of cold in a room painted blue or warmth in a room painted red. Although these impressions are subjective and closer to a personal interpretation, most research has tried to show that they are common to most individuals, and are determined by their unconscious reactions, and also by various associations that are related to nature.

Colours express moods and emotions that translate into a psychic significance and a physiological reaction.

In a maternity clinic in Monaco it has been observed that premature babies thrive more satisfactorily when they are kept in an incubator illuminated with red-purple, i.e. the colour of the prenatal environment.

ENERGETIC CHARACTERISTICS OF COLOURS

Red: It is called the great energiser, as it awakens the senses and passions. This powerful colour is the one that is most easily registered by our sight. It increases muscular tension, activates breathing, stimulates blood pressure and is the most suitable for people who are withdrawn and have slow reflexes. We are talking about scents that are full of vitality and attract attention to us. Floral scents such as rose and jasmine are the most suitable. Also rosemary, ylang-ylang and tea tree.

Orange: It is associated with health, optimism and encouragement. It is said to be the most generous of colours and the centre of balance between libido and spirit. It acts to facilitate digestion. The person who uses it avoids fragrances that can only be perceived if you get very close to them. It suggests fresh aromas that stimulate the senses when smelt, such as mint, laurel or moss.

Yellow: It invites us to joy, clarity, longevity and optimism. Yellow is not well tolerated by extreme ages: babies cry more in yellow rooms and older people tend to reject yellow. This colour suggests sweet scents such as cinnamon, orange, bergamot, lemon, incense and fennel.

Green: This colour corresponds to the centre of the colour spectrum. It symbolises peace, joy, growth, understanding, serenity, rejuvenation and sensitivity. Being the colour of nature, it suggests freshness and fresh air. Aromas such as sandalwood, camomile, lavender or grapefruit could be associated with this colour.

Blue: It suggests a contemplative attitude. It is related to seriousness, solitude and serenity. It acts as a calming agent and lowers blood pressure. The aromas that join this colour give off elegance, being astringent like lavender or beneficial like myrrh, thyme, jasmine or sandalwood.

Violet: Some people relate it to humility, religion, tolerance, melancholy and intuition. It is a colour whose shades range from indigo, indigo, lilac to purple. It suggests aromas that exude mystery and sensuality like oriental fragrances. Eucalyptus or cypress would also be compatible.
