The term aromatherapy was created in 1935 by a French chemist who first-hand witnessed the healing effects of essential oils from certain plants, both internally and externally. Some of these effects can be relaxing, stimulating, antidepressant and even aphrodisiac.
That is why you have in front of you a bathtub with the sound of sea waves, an ideal place to relax and put these essential oils to use. Here you will find cleansing scents, relaxing aromas such as lavender, and even the scent of the sea which, if you smell it and concentrate on the sound and visualisation of the waves, may transport you to the beach for a few moments.
Take a moment and enjoy the relaxing sound of the waves and their aroma....

In this selection of aromas, the aroma of lavender stands out above all, of primary origin, present in some Mediterranean whites, made with Garnacha, as well as in reds of Garnacha Tienta Carrilera, and in some cases Pinot Noir. It is usually associated with undergrowth aromas such as thyme, etc. Likewise, the aroma of the sea is present in some white wines from areas close to the sea such as some albariños from Rías Baixas and in Jerez where in finos, manzanillas and amontillados the saline notes are very marked.

"The sea had a simple, but at the same time great and singular smell, so Grenouille did not know whether to divide it into the smell of fish, of salt, of sea salt, of freshness, etc. He preferred, however, to leave it whole in order to retain it in his memory and enjoy it undivided.
The use of essential oils from plants to awaken the senses is as old as the civilisations that, thousands of years ago, learned that one of the greatest pleasures in life is achieved by pampering the body in search of its full well-being.
The term aromatherapy, however, was coined only last century by René-Maurice Gattefosse, a French chemist and owner of a house that produced essential oils. One day, he burned his hand while working in his laboratory. He quickly applied lavender, which relieved the pain and erased the redness. Surprised by the healing power of the essence, he decided to investigate other oils and discovered that, although applied externally, they penetrate to the organs because the skin is connected to the nervous system.
